Successful Conclusion of Free Fuel Initiative in Ekuigbo Community, Ughelli, Delta State: Empowering Commercial Drivers in Ekuigbo, 8th of June – The much-anticipated Free Fuel Initiative, organized by Oke Umurhohwo Foundation successfully concluded today in the vibrant community of Ekuigbo in Ughelli town with almost 200 commercial drivers benefiting from the initiative. The event marked the celebration of the foundation’s founder’s birthday which was on the 5th of May with the intention of alleviating the financial burdens faced by commercial drivers in Ekuigbo.
The distribution began promptly at 8:00 AM, and notwithstanding the initial rush, the event remained peaceful and orderly with the help of the foundation’s dedicated team ensuring a smooth process. With the presence of the foundation's founder, Hon. Oke Umurhohwo, who joined in the distribution, the excitement and enthusiasm of the beneficiaries knew no bounds.
Deborah Emekpe, the project lead, expressed her satisfaction with the event's outcome. She stated that: "Today's event was a testament to the community spirit of Ekuigbo. Our goal was to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by commercial drivers, and seeing their gratitude and relief was incredibly rewarding. This initiative would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team, and I am immensely proud of what we achieved today."
Miss Edima Bassey, the director of the foundation, in highlighting the broader impact of the initiative expressed that:"Our foundation is committed to making tangible differences in the lives of everyday people. By providing free fuel to commercial drivers, we not only support their livelihood but also contribute to the local economy. Initiatives like
